Whisper and the Woman Today

A women’s journey towards her dreams is made up of a thousand steps and we should ensure that there is nothing in her way to hold her back. Supporting her in this journey be it in the fields of technology, sports, politics, or more, Whisper is working towards unleashing her confidence and unlocking her spirit. Women need to be able to feel confident every day of their life and work with their full potential towards their dreams without being hindered by their periods. But more often than not, we have seen that women do not have complete knowledge about periods and hence are not able to manage them effectively. To test this theory and to mark International Women’s day, we conducted a survey to test their awareness about periods, and what actually happens when they are menstruating. The below statistics provide an insight into the lack of period education and protection in most people -

• Only 17% could identify early signs of period
• Over 31% believe that spotting between period is not normal
• 19% of women are not aware that are different sizes of pads depending on the flow
• About 34% said they did not know how to calculate their menstrual cycle
• Around 25% were unaware that weather affected their period

It is important that a woman understands her body more intimately, and learns about the various products that she can use during the days of her period so that her periods can become just another day for her.
