Sushant Singh Rajput has delivered one of his most heart-touching performances in his latest movie ‘Dil Bechara’. Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on the 14th of June 2020 and his legacy remains alive through the stellar performances that he has delivered on the big screen over the years. Sushant Singh Rajput had a memorable debut in the year in the buddy drama Kai Po Che in the year 2013, prior to which, Sushant starred in television serials such as Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil (2008) and Pavitra Rishta (2009-2011).

Sushant Singh Rajput went on to star in a number of blockbuster films such as M.S Dhoni The Untold Story (2016), Kedarnath (2018), and Chhichhore (2019). His performance in M.S Dhoni won him a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. His highest-grossing releases came from a supporting role in the Amir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer PK (2014).

His latest film Dil Bechara, an adaptation of John Green’s famous novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, released on 24th July 2020 on the digital platform due to restrictions amidst the on-going coronavirus pandemic. Dil Bechara got an opening of around 2000 crore rupees considering an average price of Rs. 207 (PVR Cinemas). Taking the average price as Rs. 100, the movie would have hit the 95 crore rupees mark on its opening day

The release of Dil Bechara beat Hollywood biggies such as Extraction which managed to garner 95 million viewers in the fourth week of release

Dil Bechara became the first film trailer to reach 10 million likes on YouTube. The previous record for the highest number of likes was held by Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War, with 3.2 and 3.6 million likes respectively

The film went on to secure the Top Spot in the ‘Top Rated Movies’ List on IMDb with an average rating of 10 in the first 40 minutes and settling at 9.8/10 with 21 thousand votes from viewers. The movie surpassed Kamal Haasan and R Madhavan’s Anbe Sivam, a 2003 Tamil Blockbuster.

Sushant Singh Rajput, in his final character on the big screen, played the role of a lovely character and managed to bring out the liveliness, sensitivity while doing justice to Manny’s vulnerable side as well. Sanjana Sanghi, who made her debut in a leading role complimented Sushant Singh Rajput and the duo gave us some tender and touching memories on screen, that we will continue to hold close to our hearts.
